Bruichladdich 14 Year Old Whisky Yellow Submarine

R4,399.00 incl. VAT

The story of the Yellow Submarine started 20 years ago when Islay fisherman, John Baker and Harold Hastie, spotted a remote-controlled submersible off the coast of the distillery shores. The submarine was brought back to Bruichladdich and stored for safekeeping until the Ministry of Defence came to collect their lost property. Marking the submarine’s safe return, the distillery team gifted a bottle of the aptly named Yellow Submarine to the men who retrieved it.

The return of a Bruichladdich legend, Yellow Submarine [Reclassified] is a limited release to celebrate our 25th anniversary and the submersible still standing proudly in the distillery grounds today.

14 aged years, the latest release in this iconic series opens opens with notes of crème brûlée, toasted hazelnut and warming nutmeg punctuated with fresh citrus and a hint of sea salt.

Description

Bruichladdich Yellow Submarine [Reclassified] is the latest iteration of the cult classic, following releases in 2005 and 2018.

A reimagining of this original release, Yellow Submarine [Reclassified] is once again bottled at 14 years old. This time matured in a precise mix of quality first fill bourbon barrels, and Bordeaux red wine casks.

Luxurious and refined, the single malt whisky brings notes of toasted hazelnut and warm spice with a subtle wave of sea salt, a reminder of its maritime roots.
