Lovely deep colour with a complex nose of generous red berries, poached plum, cherries and some dark fruits after aeration, as well as floral notes of rose and violet. On the palate this wine shows it is from a warm vintage as is powerful, intense and fleshy, whilst remaining incredibly elegant with soft and silky tannins. The 2018 Clos de Tart is not quite as concentrated as it usually is, but it still has the stuffing to improve over the next 20 years and it should hold for many years after that.

Clos de Tart is a Grand Cru monopole (ie. one owner) located in the village of Morey-St-Denis in Burgundy. Owned by Francois Pinault’s Artemis Group (owner of Chateau Latour and Domaine d’Eugenie), who purchased it from the Mommessin family in October 2017.
