The Dalmore distillery was founded in 1839 and is located on the Cromarty Firth coast in the northern Highlands. Dalmore uses water from the River Alness, which flows through the small town of the same name. The Cigar Malt Reserve benefits from a judicious selection of aged stocks drawn from three different types of casks: American white oak ex-bourbon casks, Matusalem Oloroso sherry butts and premier cru Cabernet Sauvignon wine barriques. The post-maturation in Premier Cru Cabernet Sauvignon barrique wine casks gives this Scotch whiskey its distinctive character, which is perfect to complement a good cigar.
